Re: Familie Schunck

Hallo Rudolf,
vielen Dank für deine Nachricht!
thank you for your message! If you cannot read this letter, because you don't understand German, please let me know, I will answer in English.

Weltkrieg.
In unserer Familie vorkommende Namen sind: Jungen: Peter, Richard, Rudolf;

Rudi Schunck

I don´nt know if I should answer in German or English, because you used the English contact page. But you wrote "Vater" and "Großvater", so I answer in German.
This is the first time, I hear about Schuncks in Hungary. I am very eager to hear more!

Greetings from Belgium,
Arnold Schunck

Re: Re: Familie Schunck

Hallo Arnold,
Thanks a lot for your email
German or English does´nt mind, you can choose the language you want.

I am searching for my ancestors.
Briefly in summary:

our ancestors emigrated at the beginning of the 19th century from the Saarland (near France in Germany) and were pharmacists in Siebenbürgen (at that time still Hungary, today Romania). After World War I they moved to Budapest. My great-grandfather was Chartographist in the army and was also in Russian shank. My grandfather was a main engineer of the Budapest gas works. My father was gynaekologe, and I am wholesale dealer (foreign trade). We are catholic, but as much I know our ancestors were lutheran. I have got lots of documents of them, but till now I have had no time to work on these old documents, but if you should be interested I can scan them and then you can spend your time with them.
It is interesting that with us the firstborn boys receive the names Rudolf (tradition?), and I have here a certificate of death of a Rudolf Schunck of the turn of the century from Paris, loud these am it also dealers to have been.
I still know Schunck's from South Germany, ex submarine captain during World War II.
In our family occurring names are (boys): Peter, Richard, Rudolf;
Girls: Emma, Veronika, Monica

So far for this first time, and then we´ll see.
How small the world is today.

I was very pleased about your letter and hope until soon.
Many greetings

Rudi Schunck
