Hendricus Hokke was a carpenter and or joiner. Around March 1943 he was forced to go to work in Germany. [1#3]
After that, he does not seem to have returned from leave and/or gone into hiding, because on August 18, 1944, he was arrested and taken to Neuengamme via the Amersfoort concentration camp. [1#5]
He may also have died as early as November 1944. [1#7]
There is no known grave of him. [1#4] In the concentration camps, individual graves were almost never digged. Sometimes remains could still be identified in mass graves, as the fuel for the crematoria ran out towards the end of the war.
