There was a wedding in Heerlen on November 24, 1938 between Cornelis Willem Klonen and Else Irene Krissel. Divorce registered following the verdict of the district court in Amsterdam on October 27, 1949. [1]
Some sources use the German given names [2], others the Dutch. Therefore it is not yet clear, which nationality he had.
The Unterscharführer Cornelius Wilhelm Klonen belonged to the Sipo/SD Maastricht and was part of the Sipo/SD in Sneek after the liberation of Maastricht. [2]
Cammaert writes: Collaborator of the Sipo-Maastricht. He indulged in excessive cruelty to detainees and made several victims. [3]
    Two examples:
On December 23, 1943, the maastricht SiPo committed a revenge killing of Herman Geenen, a so-called Silbertannenmord. The motive was the attack on WA man Michael Stemkens, who was shot off his bicycle. Herman Geenen from Roggel was known to be very anti-German. Both his sons had fled to England. Six weeks before the attack, Geenen had been interrogated by the SD because letters from one of his sons had been intercepted. The attack was carried out by SD men Hans Conrad, Cornelius Wilhelm Klonen and V-man A.J. Brings on the order of Maastricht SD chief Max Strobel. Geenen was taken away and shot dead en route. Klonen received another stern rebuke from Strobel for publicizing himself as an SD agent. [4]
Together with Richard Nitsch, he committed another, similar murder in Echt on 25 January 1944, on the barber Hendrik Joannes Korrel. They shot him dead from behind without any warning. [5]
