Harry Mulisch

In 1942 Mulisch stayed at Pension Salden (Kerkplein 7) for four or five months. But he was not really in hiding there because he and his Jewish mother Alice Schwartz were protected by his father Kurt Mulisch, who worked at the Lippman-Rosenthal bank, which ‘managed’ Jewish property on behalf of the Nazis. The parents divorced in 1936.
