      Professional cyclist from 1932 to 1940. On August 25, 1933, he broke the world hour record on the velodrome in Roermond with 44.588 kilometers. After the German invasion, he closed down his pub in Eindhoven and joined the resistance with his wife Anneke (1916-2012), among other things to help people in hiding. Was caught during a control in the natural swimming pool "De ijzeren man".
