Hein Tholen was originally a bricklayer [2#1], married to Madeleine Bonni from Montzen [2#5] near Eupen (B). He was registered in Schaesberg on 1 April 1939, coming from Belgium, and had been a miner ever since. [2#1]
On 31 May 1942 he was arrested for financial support of De Vonk. [3]
According to Cammaert, this was 30 May. On the same day 6 people were arrested in Schaesberg, 7 in Nieuwenhagen and 3 in Ubach over Worms. They were all on a list found at the De Vonk distributor F.E. Scheper. [4]
For Hein Tholen the same applies what the municipality wrote about the arrest of Albert Koenders. Incidentally, 30 May 1942 is also given there. [5]
According to Ad van Liempt, he was a more or less accidental reader of De Vonk and thus came into the focus of the Sipo. [1]
His name is on the war memorial in Schaesberg. [6]
He is on the Erelijst 1940-1945 (roll of honor) of the Dutch parliament. [7]
The picture of his In Memoriam card comes from the website vriendenkringneuengamme.nl. [8]
