His wife writes about this: My husband worked at the OD. Through his work he caught pneumonia and lay in a cellar for eight days without help. On the ninth day, February 4, 1945, he was taken to the Sittard Hospital by the Red Cross. [1#6]
Buried in the catholic cemetery in Linne, municipality of Maasgouw. [2]
His name is on the monuments to war victims in Sittard and Roermond. [3]
