The fallen resistance people in Limburg
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
Wim Burger was an office worker. [1]
He belonged to the spy group around Hans Zomer and thus fell victim to the Englandspiel (England game). [2]
He was arrested in Amsterdam on September 1, 1941 [2] and imprisoned in the Oranjehotel (Cells 543, 608 and 552. See Book of the Dead, Oranjehotel [6]). before being sentenced to death in the Maastricht OD trial. For this reason, maastrichtsegevelstenen.nl refers to him as a resistance fighter with a connection to Maastricht. [4]
He was executed by the SS at the execution ditch of Sachsenhausen concentration camp (Oranienburg, Germany), along with 23 other resistance members, and subsequently burned in "Station Z", the Sachsenhausen crematorium. [5]
