Jopie Wormer, and thus Nijmegen became the place, where the direction of 
what later would be the platform of the „national Greece working groups in 
the Netherlands and Belgium“. Apart from Nijmegen, there were Greece workgroups
in: Groningen, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Vlaardingen, Leiden, Vlissingen, Louvain,
Brussels and Antwerp, whose representatives met monthly in Utrecht. The 
oldest member was 72, the legendary trotzkist Rinus Pelgrom.
But before magazine and platform could start, we in Nijmegen had quite 
a lot to do, such as raising money for PAM by means of an action under
university staff and an art auction of high quality.  But Michel and I
also started to read a lot about the complicated greek matter, in order 
to come to solid publication. Apart from the ‘Griekenland-Bulletin’ 
we published an information folder titled „Greece, backgrounds of a fascist 
putsch“, furthermore a folder on Greece for schools, a collection of poems, 
„Forbidden Greek poetry“, translated by undersigned, a booklet „Class 
Analysis of Greece“, also translated from the Greek (SUN-schrift No. 29), 
and finally, after the uprising in the Polytechneion in November ’73, a 
collection of articles, published before under the title „Bread, Education, 
Freedom" in the ‘Groene’, the ‘Nieuwe Linie’, the ‘Griekenland-
Bulletin’ and ‘Internationale Korrespondentie’, about the rebellion 
and its history.

In September 1969 we were the proud parents of the first number of the 
‘Griekenland-Bulletin’, which was released in monthly editions until 
September 1971, with permanent articles on the „chronology of the junta“, 
a poem translated from the Greek, with an own, original illustration, and 
also numerous articles on the Greek political and socio-economic history 
and much more. So during a few years we turned in a never-stopping carousel, 
provisioning information by means of lectures, of our Bulletin but also of 
injections in what we stubbornly called the „bourgeois“ media.  In addition 
there were the transportation of illegal material to Greece and the care for 
fugitive Greeks.

Why does somebody do things like that?

Not for the dough, because usually it was a loss-making business (when we 
launched our PAM-action, organized by one the Greece working groups, at a
press conference in January 1970 in Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam, a 
certain Ego of the O.S.L. asked, how we facilitated all that information 
material. Before I could say anything, Martin Ruyter called then: „You 
can choose between Beijing and Moscow!“).

Also not for the fame or a carrier. For that we could have chosen more 
„lucrative“ resistance groups than those we did support in fact. Initially
