The fallen resistance people in Limburg
Huub Verhoeven lived in Maastricht. He was forced to work in Germany, probably in March 1942. [1].
Investigations by the Red Cross revealed that he “must have resisted” there. In Germany he was repeatedly arrested (article in Limburgs Dagblad, February 23, 1967. This is also the source of the picture. [3]) and therefore also had two prisoner numbers in Dachau: 94796, arrival Dachau September 1, 1944 [2] and number 131619, Block 23 [4].
As there was no fuel for cremations in Dachau since the end of 1945, he was buried together with many others in a mass grave [5] and now in the Leitenberg International Cemetery in Dachau.
