The fallen resistance people in Limburg
Vicar in Heerlerheide. Arrested by the Landwacht on August 18, 1944. [1][2]
In his file at the OGS (Dutch War Graves Foundation) we read: Because of his commitment to people in hiding and his attitude toward the NSB, he was shot down in Heerlen on August 18, 1944, and transported to Vught. From there to Oranienburg on September 3 and to Bergen-Belsen on February 5, 1945. [3]
The Kapelaan Ramakersstraat behind the church in Heerlerheide is named after him.
Victor Leo Servaas ( Servaas ) Ramakers is listed in the Erelijst 1940-1945 (Honor Roll of the Dutch Parliament). [4]
