Within the organization of the L.O. (Help for the people in hiding, also called “divers”), Nuth belonged to the rayon (sub-district) of Hoensbroek. Besides Hoensbroek and Nuth, it included the villages of Schinnen, Spaubeek, Oirsbeek and Treebeek. The so called diver’s chief of Nuth (the local contact between the rayon leadership and the hiding addresses) was H.P.J. Jamin. These diver’s chiefs recruited their team mainly from members of the former youth movements. (Cammaert VIb p. 670)
